Foreword

I wrote this a while ago. It’s dedicated to the author of the incomparably excellent The Elementals, Michael McDowell. It also contains strong shades of my experiences around family and friends with dementia/Alzheimers, and of course my love of the melancholic anguish of merely exisiting.
